The Mineral County Commission has declared the county a Second Amendment Sanctuary, vowing to oppose any new gun laws they believe violate the Constitution.
Monroe County joins a growing list of counties and municipalities becoming second amendment sanctuaries.
Commission President Orville Wright said "It was important that we show our support of not only the constitution, but to the veterans, the brave men and women who fought and died to protect that right”
Putnam County officials say county residents are now free from any law that unconstitutionally restricts gun ownership, after county commissioners declared Putnam a “Second Amendment Sanctuary” on Tuesday.
On March 11th 2021, the Berkeley, WV County Council unanimously passed a resolution declaring Berkeley County a Second Amendment Sanctuary.
