Jefferson County New York, lawmakers passed a resolution 14-1 supporting the right to keep and bear arms and opposing state laws that would violate the rights of Jefferson County citizens, pointing out the strict gun laws of the state.
A crowd estimated at over 300 people turned out for a meeting of the Lewis County Board of Legislators this evening, as a citizen group's proposal urging county lawmakers to pass a local law to declare Lewis County a Second Amendment Sanctuary was presented to the board.
There is nothing in Resolution No. 19-021 that protects the citizens of its county or discourages legislatures from passing unconstitutional laws. To be frank it is less than the bare minimum at best.
