Traverse County, MN Passes Second Amendment Dedicated Resolution

On March 7, 2023, Traverse County, Minnesota Commissioners passed a resolution declaring Traverse County as a “Second Amendment Dedicated County”. The resolution passed with a vote of 4-0 with Commissioner Mark Gail abstaining.

Second Amendment Dedicated County Resolution for Traverse County, MN

WHEREAS, the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution reads “A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” and

WHEREAS, the Traverse County Board of Commissioners wishes to express opposition to any law that would restrict the constitutional rights of the citizens of Traverse County to keep and bear arms;

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of Traverse County:

That the Traverse County Board of Commissioners hereby expresses its intent to uphold and protect the Second Amendment rights of the citizens of Traverse County, and

That the Traverse County Board of Commissioners hereby declares Traverse County as a “Second Amendment Dedicated County”, and

That the Traverse County Board of Commissioners hereby declares its intent to oppose any infringement on the right of law-abiding citizens to keep and bear arms, and

That the Traverse County Board of Commissioners will refuse to appropriate any Traverse County resources to enforce any mandate, law, policy, order, or any other directive which infringes on the right of law-abiding citizens to keep and bear arms, and

That the Traverse County Board of Commissioners will use any legal means, including and without limitation, court action to protect the Second Amendment rights of the citizens of Traverse County.

Adopted this 7th day of March, 2023.
