BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF SALINE COUNTY, NEBRASKA
WHEREAS, Saline County recognizes local government’s responsibility to protect the inalienable and individual rights of the people as enumerated in the Bill of Rights, United States Constitution, Nebraska State Constitution, and those fundamental rights endowed upon the people by their creator.
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Saline County Board of Commissioners, Saline County Sheriff Alan Moore and County Attorney Tad Eickman to declare their support of ALL rights and liberties of the citizens of Saline County; including the right of the people to worship and peacefully assemble, to keep and bear arms, and freedom of speech.
WHEREAS, the Saline County Board of Commissioners, Sheriff and County Attorney Affirm their oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United State, the Constitution of the State of Nebraska, and the laws of the State of Nebraska.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS IN AND FOR SALINE COUNTY, NEBRASKA;
1. That we hereby declare that we shall stand and defend the rights and liberties of all Saline County Citizens, which are guaranteed by the United States and Nebraska Constitutions.
2. That we affirm our support for the duly elected Sheriff of Saline County, Nebraska in the exercise of his sound discretion and affirm our resolve to support decisions by our Sheriff to defend the Constitution of the United States and Nebraska in furtherance of the protection of individual rights and liberties of the citizenry of Saline County.
