RESOLUTION No. 13 – 2021
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNTY SUPERVISORS OF CUSTER COUNTY, NEBRASKA
WHEREAS, Custer County recognizes local government’s responsibility to protect the inalienable and individual rights of the people as enumerated in the Bill of Rights, United States Constitution, Nebraska State Constitution, and those fundamental rights endowed upon the people by their creator.
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Custer County Board of Supervisors, Custer County Sheriff Dan Osmond, and Custer County Attorney Steven Bowers to declare their support of ALL rights and liberties of the citizens of Custer County; including the right of the people to worship and peacefully assemble, to keep and bear arms, and freedom of speech.
WHEREAS, the Custer County Board of Supervisors, Sheriff, and County Attorney affirm their oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States, the Constitution of the State of Nebraska, and the laws of the State of Nebraska.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNTY SUPERVISORS IN AND FOR CUSTER COUNTY, NEBRASKA:
1. That we hereby declare that we shall stand and defend the rights and liberties of all Custer County Citizens, which are guaranteed by the United States and Nebraska Constitutions.
2. That we affirm our support for the duly elected Sheriff of Custer County, Nebraska in the exercise of his sound discretion and affirm our resolve to support decisions by our Sheriff to defend the Constitution of the United States and Nebraska in furtherance of the protection of individual rights and liberties of the citizens of Custer County.
