On July 22, 2021, Clark County, Wisconsin Supervisors passed a resolution in support of the Second Amendment. The Resolution passed with a vote of 23-4-2.

Clark County’s Affirmation of its Citizen’s Second Amendment Rights To affirm the claim of the United. States Constitution’s Second Amendment and the Constitution of the State of Wisconsin, Article 1, Section 25. The state and federal governments shall not abridge that right through legislation or rule making

WHEREAS, the right of the people to keep and bear arms is guaranteed as an individual right under the Second Amendment to the United. States Constitution and under the Constitution of the State of Wisconsin, Article 1, Section 25 which states, “The people have the right to keep and bear arms for security; defense, hunting, recreation or any other lawful purpose”; and

WHEREAS, the people of Clark County derive economic benefit from all forms of firearms use, including for recreation, hunting, and shooting conducted within Clark County, using firearms as allowed under the United States Constitution and the Constitution of the State of Wisconsin; and 

WHEREAS, the Clark County Board is a body elected by the citizens of Clark County and have been duly sworn by their Oath of Office to uphold the United States Constitution and the Constitution of the State of Wisconsin. 

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Clark County Board of Supervisors that it hereby affirms the rights guaranteed to its citizens by the Constitution of the United States under the Second Amendment and the rights set forth in Article 1, Section 25 of the Wisconsin Constitution to keep and bear arms; and 

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Clark County Board of Supervisors opposes legislation that would infringe upon any constitutional right guaranteed to its citizens under the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of Wisconsin; and 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clark County Clerk is directed to send a copy of this resolution to the state and federal elected representatives of Clark County.
