The Crow Wing County Board unanimously passed a resolution Tuesday, 23 June 2020, declaring its dedication to the Second Amendment. Unfortunately it wasn’t the resolution two county commissioners and the general public in support of the measure wanted.
The passed version written by County Attorney Don Ryan, removed the section stating ‘the county would use any means at its disposal — including legal action, appropriating public funds and directing law enforcement and county employees — to avoid enforcing laws it deems unconstitutional’. This change defanged the resolution and softened the message that it was to send to the state legislature.
