On the 11th of March 2020, the Pinal County Board of Supervisors declared Support of the Second Amendment.
Speakers included Bloomberg funded ‘Moms Demand Action’ who nationally have been showing up in opposition, the County lawyer who presented the facts based on his research, pro and con local citizens and also the Sheriff of Pinal County. Many of the Supervisors had questions which the County Lawyer stepped up to be able to address. Todd House pointed out ‘the issue is mental health not the second amendment’.
Mike Goodman ‘When we sit back and are complacent because of the situation and are not constantly engaged, that is when the trouble does come, so I do still feel there is a sense of urgency, we have heard from some of our counterparts there probably will be legislation down the road, and ‘let’s hold off and maybe make a statement at that point’, I disagree with that, but let’s get it right”
At the conclusion of the discussion, the Resolution Draft 1 was voted on prior to each person’s vote they made a statement as to why they voted their way. The Motion passed with a 3-2 vote.
