Another Big Update
Since we published our 02/20/2020 Map, we’ve seen a great deal of progress in the Second Amendment Counties movement. As you’ll see below, there have been new counties announced across a large number of states. We have added 84 new counties to our map, with corresponding articles published on this site for verification. We also added 10 additional counties due to retroactive research as well as tips from helpful patriots.
Additionally, thanks to many of our amazing followers, we have published a LOT of actual resolutions to our site as well. People have been emailing these resolutions to contact@sanctuarycounties.com and we have been adding them to our supporting articles as quickly as possible. If you have a copy of a Second Amendment Resolution or Ordinance that has passed, please consider sending it to our team so that we can add it to the record. Thanks! Note: we’ll use unsigned copies of resolutions if that’s all you can get your hands on, but we’d obviously prefer a signed resolution.
New Resolutions Page
We actually created a new page on the website to showcase articles with resolutions attached. Thanks to our followers, we now have a large amount of these resolutions to share. If you would like to see some of the resolutions that were passed in counties across the country, please visit http://sanctuarycounties.com/resolutions/. If you find one that you like, feel free to borrow the language and modify it to suit your needs.
Verification
As always, we’d like to point out that we do not add counties to our maps or to our website without some verification of their Pro-2A status. Generally, this verification takes the shape of a link to a news article, a link to the meeting minutes of a board meeting, a picture of a signed resolution or even a link to a live stream of the event. This information can be difficult and time-consuming to track down. For this reason, we sometimes will not have counties reflected on our map that have already declared Pro-2A County status.
Sometimes we have found that a source that we used proved to be less than accurate. Additionally, a few times we added a county that was not intended to be added. In these cases, we generally are informed by our followers and we make sure to retract those counties from future maps. If you notice any errors on our map or in our verification articles that you think we need to address, please feel free to reach out to us at contact@sanctuarycounties.com.
News Media
Like last time, we expect that some news media outlets will want to use our maps for their articles about this movement. We actually went ahead and provided a very high-resolution version of the map in our previous post, and we intend to do so again. However, we would appreciate it if you would link to our homepage if you intend to use our map. It’s the classy thing to do. Aside from that, please feel free to use it. This is a free service we offer you as a thanks for you visiting our site and letting people know where they can find out more about the Pro-2A/Second Amendment Sanctuary Counties movement.
To reduce load times for this page, we keep the high-resolution map in a shared Google Drive folder. You can access that folder and corresponding map image by clicking here. If you have issues accessing the high-resolution map, please email us and we’ll send you a copy.
New County Posts
As we verify each county, we have been adding those verifications as posts here on the site. In the past few months, we have added 740 articles verifying Pro-2A / 2A Sanctuary County status to our site. Often, these are simply links to news articles where we found verification, but as mentioned earlier, we have been receiving a number of actual resolutions as well. You can comb through our records to find your county if you like. It can actually be looked at as somewhat of a historical record of the Second Amendment Counties movement. If you’d like to take a look at the massive amount of work we’ve done, please visit this page: http://sanctuarycounties.com/category/states/.

Corrections and Updates
Corrections
We removed one county in Ohio that was accidentally added to our map for the previous release. Cuyahoga County was added to the map by mistake and we appreciate our followers for pointing out that fact so that we could remove it. If you find ANY errors on this map, please email us at contact@sanctuarycounties.com and let us know and we will get it fixed for the next map rollout. It should be noted here that we also have a few counties that are on hold pending additional verification sources, so if you notice any counties missing from the map; that may be the reason they are not on it. You are welcome to tell us about it anyway, just be aware that some counties aren’t yet on the map because they are still being vetted.
Updates
We made a number of updates to our supporting articles since the last map release. We do this to add additional sources for citations, to break out individual counties from articles where we verified multiple counties at once due to a news article listing multiple counties as sanctuaries, to add resolutions that we have received via email and for various other reasons. In short, when we find new supporting information, we go back and add it to the articles where it is applicable.
We have made the following updates:
- 1 NM citations and map
- 9 TN citations and map
- 2 TX citations
- 1 KY citations
- 1 NE citations
- 1 TX citations
- 3 WA citations
- 33 VA citations

Great job! Do you have any actual copies of resolutions? I run a FB group for Tennessee and I like to have them to share
Kevin, we created a whole page devoted to sharing copies of resolutions specifically for situations like yours. Here’s a link to the new page: http://sanctuarycounties.com/resolutions/. By the way, what’s the link to your Facebook group?
