A big crowd was on hand on Tuesday night, Jan. 14, as the Harrison County Fiscal Court unanimously approved a resolution, making Harrison County a Second Amendment Sanctuary County.
“As everyone knows, this is primarily a symbolic gesture to those legislators above us in state and national government,” said county judge-executive Alex Barnett after the vote was taken. “I am a gun owner, as are probably 99 percent of the people in this county. We just want it known that we support the Second Amendment of the US Constitution, which guarantees the right of our citizens to bear arms.”
After the vote was taken, the crowd in attendance gave a standing ovation for the resolution.
