I would prefer not to link to any piece from the HuffPost, but I thought that this particular post was indicative of the sort of mentality we are forced to deal with. In this piece, they accuse Second Amendment supporters of “rejecting sensible gun control measures” due to “fabricated fears” that the government is going to confiscate our weapons.
Really? Really?? They used the following quote in their article:
“For whatever reasons, people, especially in these communities, have a deep-seated fear that universal firearm confiscation is just around the corner.”Darrell Miller, co-director of the Duke Center for Firearms Law, talking to The Associated Press
Perhaps they haven’t been watching the Democrat presidential debates, because it wasn’t too long ago when the great Beto O’Rourke let the cat out of the bag about their confiscation plans.
“Hell, yes, we’re going to take your AR-15, your AK-47”Beto O’Rourke
Additionally, perhaps they already forgot that Democrats here in Virginia have already proposed gun confiscation without a grandfather clause, but later had to walk that back. Yeah, I can’t imagine why any Second Amendment supporter would be worried about confiscation, can you?
I think they are trying really hard to make their readers believe things about us that simply are not true. Unless they really are that naive. They can’t be, can they? What do you think? Do they just not realize how wrong they are, or is this intentional? Let us know in the comments.
If you really feel the need to subject yourself to this nonsense, you can read the post on HuffPost right here: https://www.huffpost.com/entry/the-growing-cultish-paranoia-over-second-amendment-sanctuaries_n_5e04da11e4b0b2520d131421
