Santa Rosa County FL, passes ‘Second Amendment Sanctuary’ resolution

The majority of the discussion was made on the 9th of December and was placed on the consent agenda for the 12th of December. The motion to approve the resolution was meet in that meeting without objection and was approved 5-0.

The resolution, which is mostly ceremonial, outlines the Second Amendment and several court cases that reaffirmed American citizens’ rights to bear arms. It also recognizes and re-affirms the Santa Rosa County militia, which was first established in 1994 when residents grew concerned about what they saw as threats to their Second Amendment rights. Another resolution was passed in 2013.
