BAIRD, Texas — Callahan County is now a Second Amendment Sanctuary County.
Commissioners voted unanimously at Monday’s meeting to “designate Callahan County as a Second Amendment Sanctuary County.”
The County said it first reviewed a resolution passed by Stephens County which says commissioners support any decisions made by the Sheriff “to not enforce any unconstitutional firearms restrictions against any citizen.”
Commissioners then consulted with the County Attorney.
The resolution will be “read into the record at the Commissioners’ Court meeting on Dec. 9.”
Eastland County also passed a Second Amendment Sanctuary County resolution on Monday.
