The commissioners and Garfield County Sheriff Lou Vallario vowed to defend the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. The Second Amendment Preservation resolution affirmed the Board of County Commissioners support of the sheriff’s decisions regarding enforcement of laws. It noted that the commissioners will not appropriate funds to pay for activities, facilities or personnel that could be used to infringe on Second Amendment rights.

Vote On: Motion to Approve Commissioner Jankovsky – Mr. Chair I would move that with the changes that were proposed we approve the Resolution by the Garfield County Board of County Commissioners declaring Garfield County, Colorado to be a Second Amendment Preservation County; allow the chair to sign. Commissioner Samson – Second. Moved by Commissioner Tom Jankovsky, seconded by Commissioner Mike Samson. Motion passed
