Brown County, Illinois, adopted a resolution supporting the Second Amendment 2007

In 2007, Brown County, Illinois, adopted a resolution supporting the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. Soon after, it asked other counties to consider passing the same resolution.

Since 2007, 91 out of 102 Illinois counties have passed pro-Second Amendment resolutions. Whiteside County is one of only a few counties that have not considered the matter.

This year, Brown County, again, requested that the Whiteside County Board consider voting on the pro-Second Amendment resolution;

I felt it was disrespectful to ignore a fellow county board and made a motion to send the matter back to the executive committee so it could reconsider placing it on the full board’s agenda. This motion passed, 15-9.
